DSM also call Discus Society Of Malaysia was formed on March 1999 with the AIMS & OBJECTS as Below :

• Promote and safeguard the interests of DSM's members.
• Develop and foster friendship and cooperation among members.
• Improve the species of discus fish.
• Promote the healthy hobby of keeping discus fish to all Malaysians.
• Undertake and organize discus fish competitions and otherpromotional activities.
• Create a Discus keeping knowledge base
• Publish periodical publication/s to promote discus keeping.
• Strive for greater recognition of Malaysian discus in local and overseas market.
